Throughout Women’s History Month, RealManage is recognizing the leaders whose experience and perspective help shape our organization and the communities we serve. This installment highlights Patti Garrison, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, whose career has been defined by a deep commitment to people, culture, and leadership development.
With more than two decades of experience guiding people strategy and organizational performance, and more than 30 years with The Home Depot before joining RealManage, Patti brings a wealth of leadership insight to her role. Her career has been built around one central belief: when people are supported, engaged, and empowered, organizations thrive.
A Career Focused on People and Performance
Before joining RealManage, Patti spent 32 years with The Home Depot, advancing through a variety of leadership roles across human resources and operations. During that time, she developed a strong reputation for building talent, strengthening culture, and delivering measurable business results.
In March 2024, Patti joined RealManage as a human resources manager. Her impact was immediate. Within months, she was promoted to director of human resources, later advancing to vice president in August 2025, and ultimately to senior vice president of human resources in September 2025.
Her rapid progression reflects both her strategic leadership and her ability to connect people practices directly to business performance.
Today, Patti leads RealManage’s People and Culture team, overseeing talent strategy, leadership development, associate engagement, and the broader people side of the organization. Her focus is on ensuring that RealManage’s people practices support both the company’s business goals and a culture where associates feel empowered to succeed.
Creating a Culture Where Associates Thrive
For Patti, the most rewarding part of her work centers on culture and engagement.
She is deeply passionate about creating environments where associates feel valued, supported, and inspired to do their best work. When people feel connected to their work and the organization’s mission, the impact is visible across every part of the business, from collaboration and performance to overall energy within teams.
“When our associates thrive,” she says, “it shows in their performance, in their collaboration, and in the overall energy of the organization.”
That belief guides her leadership philosophy. By investing in people and cultivating strong workplace cultures, organizations can unlock both individual potential and collective success.
Leading With Authenticity and Transparency
As a woman leader, Patti is committed to supporting and mentoring other women by leading with authenticity.
She believes it’s important for women to see that building a fulfilling career doesn’t require perfection, it requires finding a balance that aligns with personal values and professional goals.
Patti is also open about sharing her own failures and lessons learned along the way. In her view, setbacks are not barriers but stepping stones that help shape stronger leaders.
By being transparent about challenges and experiences, she hopes to create a safe and encouraging space where women feel empowered to take risks, pursue opportunities, and grow into leadership roles with confidence.
For Patti, mentorship is about more than offering advice, it’s about modeling resilience, authenticity, and the courage to keep moving forward.

Being Present in Every Role
Like many leaders, Patti balances multiple roles both professionally and personally. Over time, she has learned that navigating those responsibilities successfully begins with being present.
After years of trying to juggle everything at once, she now focuses on giving her full attention to whatever role she is in at that moment—whether that’s leading a team meeting or spending time with family.
Being intentional with time and energy has become a guiding principle in how she approaches both leadership and life. Setting boundaries, making thoughtful choices, and showing up fully for each responsibility allows her to bring her best self to every space she occupies.
For Patti, the goal isn’t to do everything perfectly. Instead, it’s about making each moment meaningful and staying grounded in what matters most.
Taking Ownership of Your Career
For women looking to grow into leadership roles, Patti offers a powerful piece of advice: take ownership of your career.
She encourages women not to wait for others to recognize their talents or potential. Instead, they should be bold in claiming opportunities, seeking mentorship, and pursuing the education and experiences that help them grow.
Asking questions, seeking feedback, and stepping forward for opportunities, even when they feel challenging, can open doors that might otherwise remain closed.
Growth often happens outside of our comfort zones. By embracing new challenges and trusting their ability to learn along the way, women can build careers that reflect both their ambitions and their values.
Above all, Patti encourages women to be intentional about their professional journeys, building strong relationships, leaning on mentors, and making choices that align with their long-term goals.
