Today, we’re spotlighting Tanoa Lynne Poirier, LCAM, CMCA®, AMS®, PCAM®, vice president of operations, whose career journey reflects dedication, expertise, and a deep commitment to mentoring the next generation of community association leaders.
A Journey Defined by Leadership and Impact
When Tanoa joined RealManage in August 2021 as a community association manager, she quickly made her mark. Known for her ability to navigate complex communities while delivering consistent results, she distinguished herself as a thoughtful and steady leader with an exceptional understanding of the community association industry.
Her impact led to a promotion to director of community association management, where she guided teams, streamlined workflows, and enhanced client satisfaction across the region. In May 2025, Tanoa stepped into her current role as vice president of operations, where she now oversees high-level strategy, regional operational performance, and organizational growth initiatives.
What makes Tanoa’s leadership especially unique is her 360-degree perspective of the industry. She has served as a boutique management company owner, a board member and officer (secretary and treasurer), and a unit owner herself. These experiences give her rare insight into the needs and challenges of boards, homeowners, and management teams alike. As Tanoa shares, “Community association management is a calling, not just a profession.”
Leading with Purpose
For Tanoa, leadership is about more than operational success, it’s about investing in people.
She finds her greatest sense of purpose in mentoring the next generation of community association managers. Passionate about elevating both the profession and its reputation, Tanoa is deeply committed to educating board members and supporting managers as they navigate an ever-evolving industry.
“The work is dynamic, challenging, and never dull,” she says. “That’s what makes it so rewarding.”

In an industry where many managers are women, Tanoa recognizes the importance of being a trusted sounding board and advocate.
She supports women navigating the realities of leadership while balancing family and personal commitments by sharing her own experiences and lessons learned. She consistently encourages professional development through continued education and industry designations.
Her message is clear: preparation matters. “You never know when an opportunity will present itself. Preparation remains one of the most powerful tools we can pass on to the next generation.”

First, define your goals. “As a leader, I can only help you if you can define what you want to achieve,” she explains.
She also emphasizes the importance of learning from those who have walked the path before you. Seeking guidance, observing strong leaders, and remaining open to direction and feedback are critical components of professional growth.
Above all, Tanoa encourages women to invest in themselves – through continued education, industry designations, and intentional preparation. Opportunities often arise when least expected, and being prepared can make all the difference.
